ESOMAR Council 2007 to 2008 Election: Results
The ESOMAR is The World Research Professional Association, elections were recently held for the 2007-2008 Council, and I am honored to be re-elected, thanks to everyone for their support!
There was a record number of nominations with two candidates for President, three candidates for Vice President and 14 candidates for Council Member and by the close of elections on Thursday 14 December, 1017 members had cast their vote, which is a record number of votes received in Council elections.
The following candidates were elected:
Frits Spangenberg of The Netherlands is elected as the new ESOMAR President. He was ESOMAR Vice President from 2005 to 2006.
Ann Margreth Hellberg of Sweden, previous Council Member, becomes ESOMAR’s Vice President.
In addition, the following eight Council Members were elected (listed in country alphabetical order):
John Marinopoulos (Australia)
Paulo Pinheiro de Andrade (Brazil)
Laurent Flores (France)
Dieter Korczak (Germany)
Clara Origlia (Italy)
Rosana Urosa Cruz (Spain)
Sue Nosworthy (UK)
Gunilla Broadbent (USA)
José Wert, Past President, will remain on Council in an ex-officio capacity for the next two-year term.
